Contraindications for mHBOT

1. **Untreated Pneumothorax**: Presence of air or gas in the pleural cavity, which can lead to lung collapse.

2. **Untreated Upper Respiratory Tract Infections**: Active infections in the upper respiratory tract may worsen due to the increased oxygen levels in the chamber.

3. **Untreated Congenital Spherocytosis**: A genetic disorder characterized by abnormal red blood cells, which can lead to complications in high-pressure oxygen environments.

4. **History of Thoracic Surgery with Air Leak**: Recent thoracic surgeries where there is still a possibility of air leak into the chest cavity.

5. **Uncontrolled High Fever**: Elevated body temperature which may indicate an underlying infection or inflammatory condition.

6. **Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)**: Severe cases of COPD may be exacerbated by HBOT due to increased oxygen levels.

7. **History of Seizures or Uncontrolled Epilepsy**: HBOT may trigger seizures in individuals with a history of epilepsy or seizure disorders.

8. **Claustrophobia or Anxiety Disorders**: Individuals with severe claustrophobia or anxiety disorders may find the enclosed space of the chamber distressing.

9. **History of Radiation Therapy**: Recent radiation therapy, especially to the head or neck region, may increase the risk of side effects from HBOT.

10. **Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)**: Severe cases of CHF may be exacerbated by the increased workload on the heart in high-pressure environments.

11. **History of Sinus or Ear Surgery**: Recent sinus or ear surgeries may lead to air trapping, which can cause discomfort or injury during HBOT.

12. **History of Optic Neuritis**: Inflammation of the optic nerve may be worsened by HBOT, leading to vision problems.

It’s important to note that this list is not exhaustive, and individuals should always consult with a healthcare professional before undergoing HBOT to ensure it is safe for their specific medical condition.
